Dr. John Hartig discusses the Role of Autoworkers in Protecting our Environment

On the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, people aboard two boats, one carrying American Autoworkers and the other carrying Canadian Autoworkers held a wake to represent the death of the Detroit River due to pollution.  Today, members of the autoworkers' unions on both sides of the border are active in helping to protect the environment and are working towards reducing pollution along the Detroit River.
