In the 2026 QS World University Rankings, the University of Windsor rose to number 546 in the world, citing commitment to research excellence and sustainability as the highest metrics for evaluation. President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Windsor says "This achievement is a further testament to the talent, commitment, and drive of many of our faculty, staff, and students."
The university also achieved a 16% rise in Faculty Citations and Dr. Shanthi Johnson, Vice President, Research and Innovation is quoted as saying "This remarkable growth reflects the global reach and relevance of our research, scholarship, and creative activity. To see our faculty experience a significant increase speaks to the calibre and quality of our work. Our strength across diverse fields, from engineering and natural sciences to the social sciences, arts, and humanities, is placing us firmly on the world stage and among Canada’s leading non-medical research institutions."
