What a great event we had at GLIER yesterday. The Graduate Showcase was a huge success. Congratulations to all our presenters of the lightning talks and to all our award recipients. A huge thank you to our keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Huber!

The top honours for the lightning talks goes to PhD candidate, Ryland Corchis-Scott and MSc candidate, Kathleen Woodhouse. Here they are with GLIER's administration staff, Mary Lou Scratch and Nia Khuong.
Kathleen Woodhouse received the 'WFCU Environmental Science' scholarship, worth $700.
The 'GLIER Research' award went to PhD candidate, Ryland Corchis-Scot, MSc candidate, Kathleen Woodhouse and PhD candidate, Chelsea Crundwell. Each award is worth $850.
Winners of the 'Lum Clark' award went to PhD candidate, Sadra Shadkani. The MSc award went to recent MSc. graduate, Mackenzie Beach who was unable to attend. Recipients received $1000 each.
Director of GLIER, Dr. Mike McKay presented Chelsea Crundwell with the 'Alex S. Davidson Great Lakes Stewardship' scholarship, worth $8000.
