The Nursing Research Collaborative serves as the coordinating infrastructure for growing and sustaining research excellence across the Faculty of Nursing's three pillars and their associated research hubs:
- Community and Population Health – The EPOCH (Equity in Population Outcomes and Community Health) Hub
- Health Systems and Health Outcomes – The ECHO (Equity-Driven Care, Health Systems and Outcomes) Hub
- Nursing Practice and Education – The LEARN (Lab for Educational Advancement and Research in Nursing) Hub
The Nursing Research Collaborative advances the Faculty of Nursing’s strategic priority of ‘fostering a research culture’ by generating the space and support for research activities, expanding student research opportunities, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships, and supporting high-impact nursing scholarship (Faculty of Nursing, 2025). Through integrated support for faculty, students, researchers, and community partners, it enhances research capacity, funding success, and knowledge mobilization while creating opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and scholarly growth.
The Hubs function as the mechanisms for enacting our research priorities within each of the pillars. Together, these entities will support the Faculty of Nursing’s vision of advancing health equity, strengthening health systems, and transforming nursing education, positioning the Faculty of Nursing as a leader in nursing research and innovation that drives meaningful change in healthcare, education, and policy.
