Imagine having someone in your corner from day one
Starting university can feel exciting, fast, and a little overwhelming. What if you had an upper-year Outstanding Scholar you could turn to for advice, encouragement, and honest answers from someone who has already been where you are?
The Outstanding Scholars Peer Mentorship Program connects first-year Outstanding Scholar Candidates with experienced upper-year Outstanding Scholars so you can settle in faster, ask questions earlier, and start building confidence from the beginning of your university experience.
Why Peer Mentorship matters
University comes with new expectations, new routines, and plenty of moments where you may wonder how to make the most of your opportunities. Peer Mentorship gives you a welcoming, low-pressure way to ask questions, get practical support, and begin building your place in the Outstanding Scholars community.
This is not just about getting through first year. It is about starting strong, finding your footing, and seeing more clearly what you could grow into as a student leader, researcher, and member of the University of Windsor community.
What you could gain
- A trusted student mentor who can help answer everyday questions and share honest advice
- Practical strategies for studying, time management, balancing academics, and getting involved on campus
- Guidance on opportunities in undergraduate research, leadership development, and student life
- Greater confidence and connection as you begin your Outstanding Scholars journey
Mentors can also help you think ahead about research pathways, leadership experiences, and the kinds of choices that help build a strong foundation for life after graduation.
See what mentorship can lead to
Imagine moving through first year with more clarity, stronger support, and a better sense of where you want to go. Peer Mentorship can help you build relationships early, learn from students who have already navigated the program, and begin shaping your own path with greater purpose.
