Alan Scoboria, Ph.D

In Memoriam: November 20, 1972 - April 19, 2019

Dr. Scoboria was a Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program, affiliated with the Behavior, Cognition and Neuroscience program.

He joined the faculty at the University of Windsor in 2004. He completed his undergraduate work at Albion College and Wayne State University, and received his MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut. He completed his clinical internship at the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Medical Center. He taught undergraduate courses in abnormal psychology and psychology and law, and graduate courses in research methods and ethics and professional issues.

As a registered clinical psychologist in Ontario, Dr. Scoboria maintained a small private practice. 

His research related to basic and applied issues in memory and cognition, including distinguishing between appraisals of occurrence, accuracy, and recollection in autobiographical memory; accuracy of eyewitness reports; best practices in interviewing; social influences on memory reports; and applied cognitive issues in clinical disorders. He led an active research lab comprised of PhD students, MA students, honours students, and undergraduate research assistants.
