Effect of missing responses on the C(α) or score tests in One-way Layout of Count Data.
One-way layout of count data having over/under dispersion arise in many practical situations. Barnwal and Paul (1988) developed and studied two C(α ) statistics (Neyman,1959) under the negative binomial assumption and three other statistics for testing the equality of means of several groups of count data in presence of a common dispersion parameter and recommended the C(α) statistic. For the same purpose Saha (2008) developed three C( α) type statistics for situations in which the negative binomial assumption might be violated. Of these statistics, he recommended a C(α) type statistic based on the double extended quasi-likelihood. However, as in the continuous and some other discrete data situations, some observations might be missing in the one way layout of count data. In this paper we develop estimation procedures for the parameters involved in the one way layout of count data under different missing data scenarios and study the effect of missingness on the C(α) statistics by Monte Carlo simulation.
