Sarah Snyder (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Disability Studies Program in the School of Social Work. She holds a PhD in Social Justice Education, an MA in Sociology in Education, and an Honours BA in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Toronto. Dr. Snyder is an interdisciplinary scholar and critical theorist whose research interests include drug and substance use, harm reduction, critical pedagogies, and curriculum innovation. She works at the intersections of gender, critical disability, and mad studies, and engages critical race and queer theories in her work.

Dr. Snyder’s postdoctoral appointment is funded through the SSHRC Insight Grant “Street Health and Social Services in the Age of Covid-19” (Dr. Jijian Voronka, Principal Investigator), which seeks to examine the effects of the pandemic on homeless and harm reduction services and supports for street-involved individuals, those that serve them, and the surrounding community of Windsor.
