Biography

Dr. G. Brent Angell is Professor Emeritus in Social Work at the University of Windsor. His scholarly interests focus on redefining critical perspectives related to diversity and community practice. Dr. Angell collaborates with Canadian First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and communities on research related to health and safety. He is also the editor of the online periodical Critical Social Work: An Interdisciplinary Journal Dedicated to Social Justice. Dr. Angell provides consultation to a broad constituency on topics related effective practices, organizational development, and institutional leadership and has served as the Director of the School of Social Work (2003-2013); Chair of the Canadian Association of Deans and Directors of Schools of Social Work (CADDSSW), Member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for Social Work Education, and Founding President of the Windsor Essex Community Health Centre. Currently, Dr. Angell is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way Centraide of Windsor and Essex County.
