Important Information

  • Students must maintain full-time registration throughout the term, must be in good standing in the degree program and must have a valid SIN and eligible to work in Canada in order to hold a Graduate Assistantship. Students who meet the Phase I Tuition Refund Deadline are therefore not eligible to hold a GA.
  • Effective immediately the allowable number of hours of paid university-related employment for graduate students will be 240 hours per academic term (Fall, Winter, Summer). This includes income from all employment sources (GA, RA- employment [not including RA-scholarship], Sessionals, Food Services, IT Services, Library, Residence Services, and any other university related employment). Detailed information is available on the Graduate Studies Grad Employment website.
  • Graduate Assistants must apply each term by the application deadline, in accordance with the Article 13 of the CUPE 4580 Collective Agreement.
  • All GAs and TAs hired will be required to complete the mandatory new employee training at uwindsor.ca/requiredtraining and provide proof of completion to Sociology & Criminology Dept.  
  • GA Application Form and provide a copy of your unofficial transcript to gradsoc@uwindsor.ca.
  • Complete our online form and submit it electronically and provide a copy of your unofficial transcript to gradsoc@uwindsor.ca
  • Please complete the GA application with the list of all courses for which you have worked as a GA including the term and year
  • On the GA/TA application, the AAU Name is the name of the department: Sociology and Criminology.
