Natalie Emerick, Class of 2025

Major & Minor Concentrations: double major in Biology and Psychology
What's next after ArtSci? I'm doing my MSc at UWindsor! My project focuses on monitoring migratory bird species using recorders we're  planning to deploy across Canada.
Advice for future students? Embrace the difference in the program! It can sometimes feel bizarre explaining all the nuances of your degree to non-ArtSci peers but see this as a strength! I found that the uniqueness of being able to have a diverse set of classes helped me out across my disciplines and gave me a huge leg up when applying to grad schools.

Tamjeed Nawaz, Class of 2025

What's next after ArtSci? Medical school at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University
Favorite ArtSci memories/highlights? I really enjoyed the C2C conference, the renovation of the Artsci lounge, and the first BASA murder mystery night.
Advice for future students? Do not be afraid to take risks. Try to join every club that catches your eye. Take that class that seems interesting but might be a little difficult.

Major & Minor concentrations: double major in Earth and Environmental Sciences & Music
What's next after ArtSci? McMaster University for a Masters in Earth and Environmental Sciences as part of an interdisciplinary team working on restoring Ancaster Creek.
Why did you choose ArtSci?  I wanted to pursue a career in environmental science, but I also wanted to keep improving as a musician. During this program, I discovered my love for freshwater ecosystems and improved my skills as a musician.
How has the ArtSci program affected your education/career path? ArtSci opened me up to many courses I would never have taken had I studied a single discipline in another program.

Major & Minor Concentrations: major in Biology and minor in History
What's next after ArtSci? Completing an MSc in Archaeological Science at Lakehead University (program started Fall 2024).
How has the ArtSci program affected your education/career path? It drastically changed it. I was going to go into chemistry, then I changed to biology. While taking ecology and genetics, I came across Archaeology/BioAnthropology, which changed my path towards those fields. I never thought I would go into anthro/archaeo with this degree, but I like how it allowed me to develop skills useful in these fields (despite not having a strong background in either).

What's next after ArtSci? Getting my Bachelor of Education at UWindsor!

What's next after ArtSci? Master of Environment and Sustainability at Western University
Why did you choose ArtSci at UWindsor? When looking at post-secondary options, I found myself struggling to decipher between two of my passions. These were conservation biology, and I also wanted to continue my studies in French. ArtSci gave me that opportunity.

Major & Minor concentrations: major in Biochemistry and minor in History
What's next after ArtSci? Master’s Program in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm Sweden
How has the ArtSci program affected your education/career path? The variety of courses I took with ArtSci helped me get into grad school because I had not only a strong biomedicine background but also a background in medical ethics through compulsory ArtSci courses. I was able to write a good application through the skills I picked up from my History minor. I am still benefiting from the ethics and logic knowledge I picked up from ArtSci!
