Garden Founder


Rita Hasse

Rita Haase, founder of the Campus Community Garden Project (CCGP), is a passionate environmentalist and trained scientist/educator who supports sustainability efforts in Windsor by educating members of the greater Windsor community as well as the University campus community about local and global environmental issues.  Since 2008, she has been a full-time instructor at the University in Windsor.

With a doctoral degree in Ecology/Botany, a master’s degree in Science Education, and a profound knowledge in feminist and environmental subjects, Rita is able to combine her political activism with her passion for education in her role as Women’s Studies’ / Education instructor and CCGP coordinator. 

Rita Hasse was CCGP Coordinator from 2010 - 2014
