In order to be a Stage Manager (SM) for a production:

The student should have acted as an Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) for at least two University Players productions.

The student must have successfully completed the 24-315 Stage Management course prior to taking on the SM roll for a production.

The student should be in good academic standing.

The student must familiarize themselves with the policies and proceedures outlined in the SM Manual

The SM should normally be at least a 3rd or 4th year full-time Dramatic Art major. A 1st or 2nd year full-time Drama major may be accepted as an Assistant Stage Manager.

The staff Stage Management Mentor(s) shall assign students as Stage Managers for University Players productions through an application / interview process.

The student may not normally be assigned to SM two productions in the same season.

If the assignment is taken for a 24-350 credit, the production director, in consultation with the Stage Mangement Mentor(s), will be responsible for assigning the final grade.

There will be a paper and the Stage Manager’s script as required written components of the course.
