Graduate Education Research Conference (GERC)

Welcome to the 2026 Graduate Education Research Conference (GERC)! This student-organized conference takes place Thursday, March 12, 2026 - Friday, March 13, 2026 and will explore and celebrate the research efforts of graduate students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor.

The purpose of research is often understood as a process of better understanding the world around us. It is through research that we ask questions, seek answers, and empower new knowledge, both in the mind of the researcher and for the larger research community. Graduate students are uniquely positioned in the center of the research process, and are uniquely situated to provide fresh perspectives to the educational research landscape.

This conference invites graduate students, BEd students, faculty, sessional instructors, administrators, and those who support teaching and learning to the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor each year. Join us as we recognize established and budding graduate research initiatives that not only build upon previous knowledge but are shaping the future of education through collaboration, sharing knowledge, and creating partnerships.

GERC 2026 Bridging Worlds: Collaboration, Knowledge, and the Power of Partnership

We know that great research flourishes and advances through collaborative partnerships and sharing knowledge. This year's GERC conference theme highlights and celebrates collaborative partnerships made between various faculties, universities, schools, researchers, and community members. Creating partnerships and conducting research in collaboration are important pillars of equitable educational progress. This year's GERC conference theme celebrates the co-creation of knowledge as a path toward equitable and impactful learning.
