Space Planning and Allocation Policy

Purpose

This policy describes the principles by which the University plans for major space expansion and/or renovation, and allocates all space, a key resource of the institution.  This policy describes the role of the Space Planning Committee and the Space Planning Committee.

Scope

This policy refers to the use of physical space owned or leased by the University.

Responsibility

The Provost chairs the Space Planning Committee
The Vice-President - Planning & Administration is responsible for the effective implementation of this policy.

The Space Planning Committee is responsible for revisions to this policy on a periodic basis, as outlined in this policy.

Definitions

Space - Any portion of the University's buildings, rooms and grounds that may have either a specific or discretionary use.
