The Return of River Otters to the Great Lakes Basin gives Dr. John Hartig hope they may eventually return to the Detroit River

The return of river otters to the Great Lakes Basin, including the Western Basin of Lake Erie and other areas in Ohio, Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, and the Toronto Harbour are all hopeful signs that the once common animals will  be seen again in the Detroit River.  Dr. John Hartig, GLIER Visiting Scientist and Adjunct Faculty member has written the latest instalment of his Blog, Great Lakes Moment outlining the River Otter's comeback.
