Scientists have found that Lake Sturgeon may live longer than originally thought; up to 400 years. In Ontario, Lake Sturgeon are listed as a species at risk. Dr. Trevor Pitcher, University of Windsor/GLIER conservation biologist works to help restore Lake Sturgeon populations at the Freshwater Restoration Ecology Centre in LaSalle. He said that current conservation plans may need to be adjusted given how long the fish are now known to live.
