Action Jaxon Film Festival Opens Submissions to Honour Late UWindsor Student

Action Jaxon Film FestThe Action Jaxon Film Festival will honour the life and creative legacy of UWindsor student Jaxon Moore through an evening of short film screenings, awards, and community connection.

Submissions are open for the Action Jaxon Film Festival, a short film showcase taking place to honour the legacy of late UWindsor student Jaxon Moore. 

Set for Friday, Aug. 15 in Erie Hall, Room 1120, the festival invites filmmakers of all levels to submit completed works from the past year.

Awards include Best Film, Best Performance, Rising Talent and Best Colour Grade.

Moore was a communication, media and film student and served as marketing executive for the Communication Students Association. 

He died unexpectedly on June 20, at the age of 21, due to an unknown medical condition.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and screenings begin at 8 p.m. Admission is pay what you can, with proceeds supporting local charities. 

Deadline for submissions is Thursday, Aug. 7.
