The University of Windsor community helped Women United collect more than 6,000 books for local children and families, surpassing the group’s original goal of 5,000.
Nearly 1,000 books were donated through the on-campus book drive in support of United Way’s Summer Eats for Kids program, which provides food and books to children across Windsor-Essex during the summer break.
In just one month, UWindsor faculty, staff and students came together to donate 957 new and gently used books for all ages. The contribution played a key role in helping Women United exceed its target.
The group’s annual drive aims to keep kids reading and learning over the summer while also ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.
