An exciting week of events is planned to celebrate Alumni Week. This year’s events celebrate the enduring connection of alumni: Then. Now. Always a Lancer.

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the annual campus community barbecue welcomes students, staff and faculty to River Commons between noon and 1:30 p.m., while supplies last.

Complimentary burgers and chips with halal and vegan options will be served. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles to refill at the mobile hydration station.

The rain or shine event will feature entertainment, giveaways, and an opportunity to meet President J.J. McMurtry.

Wednesday is also the Lancer Day of Giving. Varsity teams will be going head-to-head in a fundraising drive as they compete to win prizes to enhance each team’s student experience. Everyone can join in to propel their team towards victory—alumni, parents, fans, and more! Visit the Alumni Week webpage for more information.

Students are invited to start their Thursday off right with a Grab N’ Go Breakfast. Alumni Association volunteers will be on hand in front of the Welcome Centre (Wyandotte and Turtle Island Walk) passing out complimentary muffins, cereal bars, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee and juice from 8 to 9:30 a.m. — or while supplies last.

Seating is first-come, first served and open to all.

Black Alumni Weekend begins on Friday with the Back to Black opening reception and mixer, held in the Alumni Auditorium of the CAW Student Centre from 6 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Black Alumni & Student Mentorship Mix and Mingle (also held in the Alumni Auditorium) is set to be an inspiring morning of connection, conversation, and community as Black students and alumni of the University of Windsor come together.

At 1 p.m., participants can choose a number of tour options including self-guided tours of campus, the McDougall Street Corridor Black History Tour or the Sandwich Baptist Church Underground Railroad Museum Tour.

Saturday is also gameday!

At 3 p.m., Lancer Men's Basketball welcomes Georgian College to the Toldo Lancer Centre. Admission is free! Fans are welcome to watch the hard-court action prior to moving next door to the gridiron of Alumni Stadium.

Alumni Week wraps up with an exciting Lancer Football showdown as the team takes on the Waterloo Warriors at 7 p.m. Fill the stands and cheer for the blue and gold while celebrating the spirit of our campus community. Alumni can enjoy discounted tickets using the code alumni25 at the gate or online at checkout.
