Odette CPA Night offers students valuable networking with top accounting firms

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the Odette School of Business hosted its annual CPA Night, bringing together accounting students and top regional firms for a premier recruitment and networking event aimed at launching careers in the accounting profession.

The event welcomed students from the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs who are seeking co-op placements, internships and full-time positions during the fall accounting recruitment season. 

Representatives from firms including KPMG Canada, Deloitte, Baker Tilly Canada, Doane Grant Thornton LLP, BDO,MNP, Roth Mosey & Partners, Melo LLP, Doher & Co, Capital Assist (Valuation) Inc. | Capital Assist Professional Corporation, Ally, and AM Associates engaged with students through networking and recruitment discussions.

CPA Night serves as a bridge between aspiring CPAs and industry professionals, offering firms a chance to promote their organizations, share hiring insights and build relationships with future talent. 

The evening also featured a brief awards presentation, where four accounting students — Travis Loughead, Amanda Jaksich, Garv Bajaj and Elizabeth Ryerson — were recognized with accounting scholarships.
