The University of Windsor Lancers football team hosts the Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday, Oct. 25.
Kick-off at Alumni Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
With an important victory over the Queen’s Gaels last week to close the regular season, the Lancers secured third place and a home playoff game thanks to their 5-3 record.
This marks the fourth straight playoff appearance for the Lancers who look to make another deep postseason run.
Fans are encouraged to wear blue and take part in a Blue Out to show their Lancer pride and help create a strong home-field advantage. And, thanks to generous sponsorship from Residence Services, UWSA and OPUS, tickets for students are free! Students are asked to bring their student card to the admission gates for free entry.
Prior to Saturday’s playoff action, the Windsor Lancers men’s and women’s volleyball teams start their regular season Friday night inside the Toldo Lancer Centre.
The women’s team is up first at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 8 p.m.
Both squads take on the Nipissing Lakers.
The excitement continues Saturday with rematches scheduled for 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men).
With Open House taking place on campus, admission to Saturday’s volleyball games is free.
In addition, Lancers fans are encouraged to take part in a clothing drive during the 3 p.m. game at the Toldo Lancer Centre. A Lancers prize pack will be given away to a lucky fan in attendance.
Winston will be on-hand all weekend long cheering alongside Lancer fans. With the U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball National Championship being hosted locally at the TLC in March 2026, anticipation and excitement around Lancer’s volleyball has never been higher.
Come out, show your blue and gold pride, and support your Lancers as they start their home campaign strong!
Saturday evening, the action shifts to the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex. Windsor Lancers women’s hockey takes on the Ottawa Gee Gees at 4 p.m. and men’s hockey battles the Waterloo Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
Let’s pack the stands – whether the field, court or rink – and make some noise! Go Lancers!
