Lancers Football set to host OUA semis home game for the first time in 35 years

Lancers Football and Basketball are set for action this weekend.

With a home field win over Ottawa this past weekend, the Windsor Lancers claimed not only a berth into the OUA Football semifinals, but a home game – their first in the semis since 1990 – against the Queen’s Qaels, Saturday, Nov. 1 at Alumni Stadium, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

The Lancers will be eager for redemption as they were eliminated by Queen’s at home during last year's quarterfinals.

Fans are asked to help pack the stands for this historic, home field semifinal playoff game. Wear your blue and gold and push the Lancers across the goal line in their quest for a spot in the Yates Cup final.

Faculty and staff can use promo code FBSEMI25 for $15 tickets at golancers.ca.

Student tickets are generously sponsored by the Career Centre and Co-operative Education & Workplace Partnerships. Students are reminded to bring their Student ID for free entry.

It’s also an exciting weekend on the Toldo Lancer Centre gym hardcourt, with Lancers Basketball Opening Night hosted by UWSA kicking off the men’s and women’s seasons.

Friday, Oct. 31 will surely be a spooktacular start as the Lancers' men’s and women’s basketball teams take on Queen’s Gaels.

The women’s game starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by the men’s tip-off at 8:00 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive dressed in costume and take part in the festivities throughout the night including a costume contest, dance-off and on-court challenges with prizes on the line.

It’s a full weekend of Lancer pride from the court to the field.

Go Lancers!

Come out, wear blue in support of our student athletes and let’s make history together!
