Windsor becomes a hub of tech innovation this November as more than 300 developers, designers and entrepreneurs descend on the Odette School of Business for GDG Windsor DevFest 2025 — a high-energy, one-day conference packed with expert-led talks, immersive workshops and a thrilling AI startup showdown.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., aims to foster innovation and collaboration in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and software development.
Organized by local Google Developer Group volunteers and the Odette School of Business, DevFest Windsor is part of a global series of community-led tech conferences supported by Google.
“It is these moments, happening once a year, that bring our entire community together to connect, exchange ideas, inspire one another and drive innovation forward,” said Odette Assistant Professor Esraa Abdelhalim.
“This is how we rise, connect and create.”
According to Maha Tantawy, assistant professor at the Odette School of Business, DevFest Windsor-Essex unites learners, professionals and innovators to explore how AI and emerging technologies can spark creativity and real-world impact.
“This year’s edition features a Startup Track and the ‘Innovate with AI’ competition—both designed to empower the next generation to experiment, design meaningful solutions and transform ideas into action,” said Dr. Tantawy.
Attendees will have access to over 25 sessions led by more than 25 speakers from across the tech, business and academic sectors.
Topics will range from machine learning applications to startup scaling strategies, with live demos and networking opportunities throughout the day.
A dedicated high school track will offer practical labs, including Arduino robotics, to inspire youth interested in STEM careers.
For students, attending DevFest Windsor 2025 offers a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world innovation and explore advancements in AI, cloud computing, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity and software development.
Dr. Abdelhalim said it’s an excellent chance to learn from experts, connect with mentors and develop practical skills that strengthen career prospects in the rapidly evolving tech industry.
Admission to this event is open to students, professionals and tech enthusiasts.
