The University of Windsor Alumni Association celebrated both new and departing leadership during its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held Thursday, Nov. 6.
The gathering highlighted the continued strength of the Association’s volunteer governance as members welcomed three incoming directors and expressed gratitude to three long-serving colleagues whose terms had concluded.
Joining the board are Ryan Donally, Marium Tolson-Murtty and Priyanka Philip.
Donally, a double graduate of the Odette School of Business (BBA ‘13, MBA ‘15), is the CEO of the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce. Donally has been recognized for his strategic insight and ability to build meaningful partnerships. His appointment is expected to strengthen the Association’s regional presence and expand opportunities for collaboration between local industry and UWindsor alumni.
Tolson-Murtty (BA ‘96, BEd ‘03, MEd ‘08), UWindsor’s director of Human Rights, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, brings extensive expertise in equity, human rights and education. Tolson-Murtty is already active within the Alumni Association through its Reunion & Special Events Committee, playing a key role in organizing numerous events including the annual Black Alumni Weekend.
Philip (BSc ‘08, MBA ‘10) is the vice-president (interim), Health Equity and System Transformation at Ontario Health. An esteemed international student alumna, Philip most recently served as a guest speaker for an Odette School of Business event. She offers a global perspective and organizational expertise that will strengthen the Association’s forward-looking strategy.
The AGM also recognized retiring Board members Jake Rondot, Dr. Geri Salinitri and Martha Young, whose years of service have significantly shaped the Association’s development.
Rondot (BHK ‘02), managing director of HK Publishers Canada, joined the Board in 2014 and has served as the Association’s representative on the University Senate since 2020. Respected for his steady leadership and deep community commitment, he was credited with guiding the Association through key periods of growth and change. His “unwavering commitment and generous volunteerism,” noted Advancement and Alumni Director Kelly Gosselin, made a lasting impact on the Association’s direction and culture.
Salinitri (BSc ’77, BEd ’78/’92, MEd ’98, PhD ’04) was elected to the board in 2019. The contributions of the retired associate dean of the Faculty of Education “enriched the Board’s work and strengthened connections across the University community,” said Gosselin.
“Geri served with the same dedication to the Board that defined her decades-long career as an educator.”
Salinitri served as Chair of the Faculty Awards Committee and will continue in this capacity.
Young (BA ’74), principal of Martha Young & Associates, was recognized for her service since 2021. Young played a meaningful role in advancing the Association’s initiatives with a reputation for creativity, strategic insight and collaborative leadership. The Board also extended gratitude to her partner, Michael, for his contributions to the Annual Alumni & Friends Golf Committee. Said Gosselin, “her influence has been exceptional in both impact and spirit.”
The collective contributions of the Alumni Association board members serve to strengthen the Association’s ability to support students, engage alumni and enhance the University’s community impact.
