The Sahra Bulle Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President, People, Equity, and Inclusion, is inviting presenters, advocates, educators, artists, researchers, front-line workers and community leaders to submit proposals for the fourth annual #IAmSahraBulle Conference, taking place Nov. 26, 2026.

Held during the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, this year’s conference theme is From Awareness to Action: Ending Violence in Our Homes, Schools, and Communities. The event aims to move conversations beyond awareness and toward meaningful, community-driven action to address gender-based violence.

Organizers are seeking interactive, trauma-informed sessions that provide participants with practical tools, strategies and pathways for action. Proposed topics may explore prevention, accountability, healing, digital safety, community-led responses, youth engagement, creative resistance and the disproportionate impacts of gender-based violence on marginalized and racialized communities.

Priority will be given to proposals that centre the voices and experiences of Black women, Indigenous women, immigrant and refugee women, women with disabilities and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

The conference welcomes both experienced and first-time presenters.

Organizers emphasize that lived experience, professional expertise and community leadership are equally valued.

A dedicated student presenter stream will also return in 2026, creating space for youth voices and emerging advocates from high schools, post-secondary institutions and community organizations.

Session formats include workshops, interactive presentations, sharing circles, panel discussions, arts-based sessions and student-led presentations. All accepted sessions must include meaningful audience engagement and actionable takeaways.

The conference is free to attend, with costs supported through donor contributions and fundraising efforts.

Proposal submissions are open until July 15, with presenter notifications scheduled for Aug. 15.

Submissions and inquiries can be sent to info@sahrabullefoundation.ca.
