Students in the University of Windsor's Master of Management program will continue to benefit from a nationally recognized pathway to one of Canada's leading supply chain credentials following the renewal of the Odette School of Business's accreditation agreement with Supply Chain Canada.

The renewed accreditation confirms that the Master of Management program continues to meet national standards established by Supply Chain Canada and allows eligible graduates to receive advanced standing toward attaining the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP™) designation.

Through the agreement, graduates can receive credit for six modules toward the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP™) designation, helping them accelerate their path toward earning the designation.

For Brent Furneaux, Master of Management program director at the Odette School of Business, the renewed accreditation reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to ensuring its programs remain closely aligned with industry expectations.

"Students are increasingly looking for programs that connect directly to professional credentials," says Furneaux.

"This is another important accreditation that demonstrates our curriculum aligns with industry standards while giving graduates a credential that can help distinguish them in the job market."

The agreement is particularly valuable for the program's many international students, who often seek recognized Canadian credentials alongside their graduate degrees.

"Having a respected professional designation can help open doors where you might otherwise be overlooked," Furneaux explains.

"It gives employers confidence that graduates have developed knowledge that reflects Canadian industry expectations."

Supply chain management has become an increasingly important field, encompassing everything from procurement and sourcing to inventory management, logistics, customs and global trade. Those skills are especially relevant in Windsor-Essex, one of North America's busiest cross-border trade corridors.

"Our location on the border makes this a natural strength for the University," says Furneaux.

"When we talk about our Master of Management program, supply chain is one of our strongest streams because there's real demand for graduates in this region.”

The renewed accreditation also underscores the University's close connection with employers and industry partners.

“What students really want is a practice-oriented education, and this renewed accreditation signals that we’re responsive to industry, connected to professional practice and continually aligning our curriculum with what's happening in the field,” Furneaux says.

"Having a recognized designation on your résumé helps create opportunities and gives graduates another way to stand out."

The renewed agreement ensures future Master of Management graduates can continue to access an accelerated pathway toward the SCMP™ designation while reinforcing the Odette School of Business’s employers.
