Members of the Outstanding Scholars program and the Golden Key society teamed up to release a second cookbook titled: The Cozy Kitchen: A Taste of Success.
Developed with the guidance of local registered dietitians Leeauna Duchesne and Shelley Amato, the cookbook offers simple, easy-to-follow recipes.
New to the cookbook this year is practical nutrition advice—such as how to read food labels, identifying suggested essential vitamins for student health, with a pinch of wellness tips throughout the book.
The driving forces behind the project, Sona Regonda and Linda Nguyen worked closely with peers and mentors to ensure the cookbook addressed the real-life needs of students—balancing time, taste and nutrition.
“Deciding what to make can be half of the battle,” said Regonda.
“This cookbook was created to make that choice a little easier for fellow busy students. It’s intentionally inclusive and multicultural, with full nutrition labels to support a variety of lifestyles.”
Nguyen said “creating this resource was both a fun and fulfilling experience. It was incredibly insightful to explore how specific ingredients can support different dietary needs while still maintaining a healthy balance.”
Though designed with the post-secondary student in mind, The Cozy Kitchen: A Taste of Success serves up recipes and wellness advice that anyone can enjoy and use.
