Feats of engineering excellence will transform the main floor of the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering on July 25, 2025, during Capstone Design Demonstration Day.
That is the day when the fourth-year engineering undergraduate students showcase their knowledge, technical skills and expertise in the form of their capstone design projects.
Featuring nearly 50 team projects, the collaborations represent electrical and computer engineering, mechanical, automotive and materials engineering and civil and environmental engineering.
Students tackled challenges that mirror the complexities of industry while turning hands-on experience into real-world solutions.
The many intriguing topics include developing rocket motors, designing a small-scale steam engine, creating a self-playing piano and generating a dual-frequency wirelessly powered pacemaker.
The students’ displays of hard work will be evaluated by faculty and guests as part of the event. Come explore the futuristic innovations by University of Windsor students.
Special thanks to ABC Technologies, Valiant TMS, TRQSS and Vista Solutions Inc. for their capstone endowments, as well as to ENWIN for supporting students during capstone day.
The student project demonstrations, faculty grading and open house run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the main floor of the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering.
