Step into a world of fairies, enchanted forests, and whimsical mayhem as Korda Artistic Productions presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s timeless romantic comedy of magic, mistaken identities, and mischievous love.

This dreamlike staging features several University of Windsor alumni, showcasing their training and passion in an engaging display of local artistry.

From the regal Theseus and Titania to the playful Puck and lovestruck Hermia, the cast brings fresh energy to the beloved classic.

“As a University of Windsor graduate, I’ve maintained strong ties with both the School of Dramatic Art and Windsor-Essex’s creative community,” said Shayla Hudson (BFA Acting 2019), who plays Peter Quince and a fairy. “Jeremy (Burke) and I have crossed paths with many alumni throughout our careers, and Windsor’s artistic scene is incredibly interconnected.”

Burke (BAH Visual Arts & Dramatic Arts 2021), who plays Bottom, says performing this play in Windsor carries a deeper personal significance.

“Not only am I working with people I love, whom I speak a similar artistic language due to shared history and training (10 of which are University of Windsor alumni, one currently studying), but I'm doing it all within the city I grew up in and studied in," said Burke.

“I'm happy to be making this kind of theatre happen within the Windsor city limits…I hope it can serve as part of a journey to create a richer, more consistently arrayed Windsor theatre scene for audiences and artists alike to participate in.”

In partnership with the Fogolar Furlan Club, Korda Artistic Productions offers audiences an immersive evening where Shakespeare’s enchantment meets the vibrant spirit of Windsor’s theatre community.

Performances run Aug. 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, at the Fogolar Furlan Club, 1800 North Service Rd., Windsor.

Evening shows include buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. performance, with matinees offering lunch at 12:30 p.m. and a 2 p.m. show.
