Lancer Volleyball builds momentum ahead of locally hosted U SPORTS national championships

A high-energy weekend of Windsor Lancers volleyball at the Toldo Lancer Centre is set to build on the excitement of the upcoming U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball National Championship, March 13 to 15.

This weekend’s home doubleheaders against the Waterloo Warriors are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16, with the women’s match at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 17, with the women playing at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to discover the energy and excitement of elite varsity volleyball in what is sure to be a preview of the upcoming action-packed championships.

Tickets for this weekend’s matches are available in advance at golancers.ca/tickets and can also be purchased at the door on game days. For fans unable to attend in person, all matches will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The Lancer men are currently ranked fifth in the nation with an impressive 10-2 record which sits atop their conference standings.

The team’s recent surge includes a dominant weekend sweep of the York Lions, winning both matches in straight sets and further solidifying their position as a national contender.

Leading the charge is Brazilian standout Gustavo Siqueira, who continues to pace the league in kills per set. At the net, senior Darian Koskie has been a force defensively, boasting a conference-leading block presence, while reigning conference Player of the Year Markus Law-Heese remains one of the country’s most effective and dynamic setters.
