The University of Windsor is pleased to announce the renewal of Dr. Selinda Berg for a second term as University Librarian and Dean of the University Library, effective July 1.
During her first term, Berg has led Leddy Library through significant transformation, strengthening its role as an essential academic, research and student-centered hub.
Her leadership has advanced organizational restructuring, major space renewal projects, improvements to open scholarship infrastructure and the expansion of student-focused services that meet the evolving needs of the campus community.
Her work in equity, inclusion and community partnership has further deepened the library’s engagement across the University and the profession.
In Senate, Provost Cheryl Collier, highlighted the ways Berg’s leadership has aligned the library with the University’s strategic priorities, strengthened its academic profile and reinforced the central role of libraries in research, teaching, learning and student success. Dr. Collier also shared that the adoption of the dual title, University Librarian and Dean of the University Library, reflects the academic and administrative scope of the role, improves internal and external recognition and aligns Windsor with peer institutions.
“The continued momentum of the Leddy Library is a reflection of Dr. Berg’s vision and steady leadership,” said associate vice-president, Academic, Dr. Erika Kustra.
“Her ability to bring people together, navigate complexity and drive meaningful progress positions Leddy Library as a strong academic partner within the University.”
Reflecting on goals for her second term, Berg looks forward to continuing ongoing efforts focused on strengthening digital and physical infrastructure, expanding open scholarship capacity, enhancing student-centered spaces and services, deepening community-engagement and advancing national and international collaborations that support the University’s strategic goals.
