About Us

Welcome to the Office of Human Rights, Conflict Resolution and Mediation at the University of Windsor—a place where equity, respect, and inclusivity are at the core of everything we do.

At the University of Windsor, we pride ourselves on being a diverse and vibrant community that values every voice. Our office reflects this commitment by ensuring that human rights are upheld, conflicts are resolved with care, and accessibility is prioritized for all members of our campus family.

Our mission is to promote and protect human rights, facilitate conflict resolution, and offer mediation supports to students, faculty, and staff. We strive to create a safe space where individuals can seek assistance and guidance on matters of equity, inclusion, and justice.

As a cornerstone of the University of Windsor’s commitment to equity and inclusion, our office provides essential services and support to the campus community. Here’s how we make a difference:

  • Human Rights Advocacy: We address human rights concerns with sensitivity and care, providing expert guidance, resources, and support to uphold fairness, dignity, and respect for all members of our campus.
  • Conflict Resolution & Mediation: We provide confidential mediation and conflict resolution services, helping individuals and groups navigate disputes constructively and respectfully, with a focus on understanding, collaboration, and restoring relationships.
  • Accessibility: We work to break down barriers and create an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can fully participate in campus life. We work to identify and remove barriers, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can fully participate in all aspects of campus life. 
  • Equity Advancement: We champion equity by addressing systemic barriers and promoting fair access to opportunities, resources, and support. Our efforts include developing and monitoring employment equity strategies, supporting anti-racism initiatives, and fostering a culture where diversity is valued and every individual can thrive.
  • Policy Development & Accountability: We lead the development of policies that uphold human rights and equity, ensuring the University of Windsor remains a leader in accountability and transparency.
  • Education & Awareness: Through workshops, learning sessions, and outreach programs, we equip our community with the tools to champion human rights and navigate conflicts effectively.
