As part of the University of Windsor’s integrated emergency plan for individuals with disabilities, Stryker emergency evacuation chairs have been installed across campus. These chairs support safe, timely, and efficient evacuations for everyone. They are especially useful for assisting individuals with permanent or temporary mobility limitations when elevators are unavailable or unsafe to use, enabling safe movement down stairways during an emergency.

Please visit Fire Safety Information | Campus Safety for a listing of evacuation chairs and to watch a training video on how to use them. This website also includes guidance for staff, faculty, and students who may require assistance during an evacuation, as well as instructions for developing a personal emergency exit plan and best practices for assisting others.
