The OPUS Drug & Dental Plan fee is assessed annually, during the Fall or Winter Semester, depending on when you begin the academic year. Reminder that you're still able to opt-out of this fee during the traditional opt-out period provided that you have existing comparable coverage per policy, you may complete the form located here, https://onlineservices.greenshield.ca/StudentOptOut/When.aspx?cl=43464&edu=32000.
Those that successfully opt-out will be refunded by e-transfer or cheque sometime in October. This means that you must pay this fee up front (same as other ancillary/tuition fees) and be reimbursed later. The opt-out period is from August 2 - October 6, 2021.
Students who are considered seniors, ELIP/CELD, co-op and internship/practicum are not typically charged the health and dental fee and must opt-in to the plan if they would like to obtain coverage. Furthermore, students requiring couple or family coverage must opt-in with us directly. Once the form is completed, you may pay the fees to OPUS directly by e-transfer, cheque or cash.
