Meet our Undergraduate Student Representatives!

Undergraduate Psychology students can serve as student representatives on our Departmental Council and on our Undergraduate Studies Committee.

Meet our Psychology Student Representatives:

Undergraduate Studies Committee:

Riya Mistry

Hi everyone! My name is Riya Mistry, and I'm a third-year Honours Psychology student at the University of Windsor. I'm excited to be this year's Undergraduate Studies Student Representative.

Over the past few years, I've been involved in research, volunteering, co-op, peer support, and student clubs on campus. These experiences have helped me become more confident and shown me how much easier university can feel when you know there are people you can reach out to.

As your representative, I hope to be someone you feel comfortable contacting if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. I'm always happy to help where I can, so feel free to reach out to me at mistry87@uwindsor.ca

Departmental Council:

Aya Hussein

Hi everyone! My name is Aya Hussein, and I’m a fourth-year Honours Psychology with Thesis student at the University of Windsor. I’m excited to serve as an Undergraduate Student Representative and help make sure students feel heard and represented within the department.

Outside of psychology, I’m involved in campus and community initiatives, including the French community, supporting newcomer and refugee communities, and volunteering with older adults. As your representative, I hope to be someone you feel comfortable approaching with any questions, concerns, ideas, or feedback. I’m looking forward to connecting with you throughout the year!

Lara Najem

Hi everyone! My name is Lara Najem and I am honoured to serve as an Undergraduate Student Representative on the Psychology Departmental Council for the 2026-2027 year. I am in my final year of the Honours Psychology with Thesis program. My goal is to ensure that the concerns of my fellow students are heard and addressed. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I'm here for you.

Ibakh Ahmed

Hi everyone! My name is Ibakh, and I’m a fourth-year Psychology student at the University of Windsor. I’m excited to be serving as an Undergraduate Student Representative for the 2026–2027 academic year.

I’ve always been interested in understanding how people think, develop, and behave, which is what drew me to psychology in the first place. I’m especially interested in developmental psychology and neuroscience, and I’m always finding myself connecting what I learn in class to everyday life. Outside of academics, I’m involved in volunteering and different student initiatives around campus.

As a student representative, I want to be someone students can actually come to with their questions, ideas, or concerns. If there’s something you think the department should know about, feel free to reach out to me at Ahmed17f@uwindsor.ca

Sienna Pepper

Hi, my name is Sienna Pepper, and I am a third year student in the Concurrent Psychology program. Outside of class, I am involved in psychology and kinesiology research and mentoring Outstanding Scholars students. I am looking forward to serving as an undergraduate representative for the 2026-2027 academic year!  If you have any questions or feedback about research opportunities, career paths, or anything else, feel free to reach out to me at pepper11@uwindsor.ca.

Alessia O'Brien

Hi there! My name is Alessia O’Brien, and I’m in my third year of the Honours Psychology with Co-op program. I’m so excited and grateful to serve as an Undergraduate Student Representative for the 2026–2027 academic year!

I have always been interested in psychology, specifically developmental psych and neuropsychology, and I love how psychology can be found in so many different aspects of our everyday lives. Outside of the classroom, I’ve gained many valuable experiences through my co-op placements, student initiatives, volunteering, and in the FAHSS Mentorship Program this year, supporting first-year students as they transition into their university journey.

As an undergraduate representative, my goal is to help build a welcoming psychology community where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported. Whether you have questions about the psychology department, classes, or especially the psychology co-op program, please feel free to reach out! My email is obrien24@uwindsor.ca :) I'm always happy to chat with a fellow psych lover! I’m looking forward to growing alongside you all and the Psychology Department this year. Let's make the most of our psychology journey together!
