Fridge Rentals - Coldex

If you are interested in having a mini-fridge or mini-fridge/microwave combo in your bedroom you must rent one through Coldex. We are no longer providing mini-fridges in the bedrooms, and you are not permitted to bring your own. Coldex delivers your fridge prior to move in day and will pick it up when you move out. If you are assigned to a double room, we encourage you to only rent one mini-fridge and share the cost and fridge with your roommate. This will ensure you have enough space and electrical outlets in the bedroom.

Alumni Hall has kitchenettes in each suite and an apartment sized fridge is provided.

Internet, TV and More

WiFi is available on campus for all students. If you want additional or upgraded services such as enhanced internet speeds or cable TV, you can explore options through Cogeco at your own expense.

Laundry

A laundry room is located in each residence building with high efficiency machines provided through a partnership with Sparkle Solutions. Residents add funds to their accounts and pay-per-use for their laundry.

How to pay in Laurier, Cartier & Alumni

Download the Laundry Cat app to your phone. This app allows you to easily tap to pay for laundry using your mobile device. Once you have downloaded the app, you just need to activate your account and add funds to your account balance. Then you can start using your phone to pay for laundry with just a tap at the machines.

If you are unable to download the app it may be because your region/country is set to outside of Canada or it may be because the app’s requirements exceed the phone’s operation system version or capabilities. If possible, change your region/country to Canada. If you find you are not able to download the app please email housingfc@uwindsor.ca so another option can be provided.

How to pay in Rodzik Hall

You have two options to pay for laundry in Rodzik Hall.

Purchase and use a laundry card. You can purchase the laundry card and add additional funds in the laundry room located in Rodzik Hall. This card should be treated like cash as if you lose it anyone could use the available funds. Once you have added funds to your card you can start using it to pay for laundry with just a tap at the machines.

Mail and Package Delivery

All mail, including packages, are delivered to our main University Distribution Services office. Letter mail is placed in your mailbox, located in your residence building.

PLEASE NOTE: once a package is received on campus, allow 1-2 days for delivery to Distribution Services. Distribution Services will notify you when it's been received.

Maintenance Request

The Maintenance Request form is used to submit repair requests for your bedroom or shared living spaces within your unit. To access the form log into the Residence Portal and select Maintenance Request from the menu to complete the form.

If the issue is an emergency (ex. flooding) please do the following:

Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm: Call the office at 519-253-3000 ext. 3279
After hours: Call the RA on-call for your building

Residence Linens

Residence Linens can assist you with your shopping needs for your bedroom. They provide complete, colour co-ordinated linen packages at affordable prices, delivered to your residence before move-in day. Check out Residence Linens' website at https://residencelinens.com

Superstore Shuttle (Grocery Bus)

The Real Canadian Superstore on Dougall Avenue has in the past sponsored a Grocery Bus every TUESDAY for students.

There will be two buses running simultaneously, with two routes.

1st route: at 6:00 pm, pick up at Canterbury College, then next pick-up at Bridge and Wyandotte Street, and drop off at the Superstore, then return and so the same route. This route is continuous from 6-9 pm. Buses will be marked
2nd route: at 6:00 pm, pick up from Vanier Circle (Cartier), then pick up at Alumni Hall, travel to Superstore to drop off, then return to Vanier Circle. This route is continuous from 6-9 pm. Buses will be marked

You can EARN 10% MORE PC OPTIMUM POINTS ON TUESDAYS

This is a service that is offered through the Superstore, and we hope that you use the free transportation for all your shopping needs.
