Missed Assessments

While students are required to participate in all graded course assessments (quizzes, midterms, finals, presentations, etc.) as scheduled, there may be situations that are out of the control of students that necessitate an alternate or makeup assessment.  A student who wishes to receive consideration on matters affecting or shown to affect academic performance based on medical or compassionate grounds, such as, bereavement, or serious mental or physical health circumstances, or unanticipated extenuating circumstances beyond the control of the student (e.g., jury duty, caring for an ill family member, labour disputes, etc.) may request an alternate accommodation for a missed assessment by completing the Alternate Accommodation Form and submitting it, along with any relevant documentation to the Dean’s Office at Odette.  In addition, students may wish to inform their instructor of the absence, but all forms and documentation should only be submitted to the Dean’s Office either in-person, or via email to osbreception@uwindsor.ca.  All requests will be reviewed by the Dean’s Office and students will be notified via email regarding the outcome.

  • Students with three or more midterm exams within a 24-hour period should submit an Alternate Accommodation Form as detailed above.
  • Students with three or more final exams within a 24-hour period, or final exams conflicts due to observance of religious holidays, please follow the instructions from the Registrar’s Office here.

Download and submit the completed form with any relevant documentation to the Dean’s Office either in-person, or via email to osbreception@uwindsor.ca
