TITLE: Enhancing Poultry Barn Ventilation Efficiency through Active Filtration: An Integrated Performance Analysis
Abstract
Efficient ventilation plays a pivotal role in maintaining air quality, thermal comfort, and overall bird health in modern poultry production. Traditional ventilation strategies often emphasize air exchange rates but may overlook the influence of internal obstructions, such as bird presence, on airflow performance. This presentation investigates poultry barn ventilation efficiency through a computational analysis of airflow patterns in the presence of birds. Using simulation models, the impact of bird distribution on airflow uniformity, and temperature gradients is examined. The results highlight areas within the barn that are prone to reduced air circulation and uneven thermal conditions, offering insights into the limitations of conventional ventilation design. These findings provide a foundation for exploring advanced approaches (such as integrating active filtration) to further enhance air quality and operational performance in poultry barns.
