- Fall & Winter are a time to keep in mind best practices for preventing illnesses.
- Members of the University community all have a responsibility to mitigate the risk of spreading illness in the workplace.
Employee Responsibilities:
- Monitor for symptoms of illness and practice frequent handwashing;
- Report illness to your supervisor and seek medical care if necessary;
- Adhere to Ontario's guidelines on staying home when ill (reference the symptom self-assessment at: https://health811.ontario.ca/static/guest/symptom-assessment;
- When returning to campus after illness, wash hands frequently and follow public health protocols; and
- Utilize available employee resources, including:
Illness prevention:

- Self-monitor for illness. Immunizations are an effective way to reduce your risk and prevent the spread of illnesses.
- Wash your hands often or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces.
