Following the first labour negotiation meeting, Unifor 444 Special Constable Service and Unifor 2458 Operating Engineers submitted a request to the Ontario Ministry of Labour to appoint a conciliator to serve as a neutral third party to help with the bargaining process.
This step is a common occurrence during collective bargaining.
The University respects the collective bargaining process and is committed to working collaboratively to reach tentative agreements with both Unifor 444 Special Constable Service and Unifor 2458 Operating Engineers.
The University's goal is to reach tentative agreements that are fiscally responsible and acceptable to all parties.
