System Status & Notifications

Network Maintenance - Sunday, September 1 from 12 am - 4 am

Scheduled network maintenance will occur on Sunday, September 1 between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. 

You might experience a brief service interruption and may need to restart or login again on some platforms after the maintenance is completed. 

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Network Disruption (Resolved)

*Update* Network operations have been restored. If you continue to have issues accessing any systems please contact the Service Desk. 

IT Services is aware of an work on a  network disruption that may be affecting a number of individuals on campus. More updates will be posted when available. 

Wireless Network Upgrades
IT Services will be conducting an upgrade to the wireless network on Wednesday, August 14th. Users may experience a few brief wireless network outages between 06:00 and 08:00. Users may need to manually reconnect their devices after the upgrade is complete.
Firewall Maintenance (Completed)

*Update: Firewall Maintenance has been completed successfully.

IT Services will be performing an update on the campus firewalls Friday, August 9 between 6:00 and 7:30am. During this maintenance there will be brief interruptions to network service across campus.

You may have to restart or log in again on various platforms when the network resumes operation.

Internet service disruption (July 16, midnight to 6 am)

There will be an unplanned interruption to our internet services on July 16 due to emergency maintenance by our service provider. TELUS has made every effort to select a time which is a low usage time. Tomorrow, between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 AM, Internet services may be unavailable for a period of up to 30 minutes.

Please note the following important details:

  • This outage could occur at any time during the window and last for a period of up to 30 minutes.
  • The University will be disconnected from the Internet and all other networks during these interruptions.
  • Users will not be able to reach our website and UWinsite Student and users on campus (such as in Residence) will not be able to access the Internet.
  • Cloud services like the Outlook and Brightspace Learning Management System will continue functioning as usual.

Campus Wi-Fi disruptions (July 3)
IT Services will be performing maintenance on the campus wireless network on Wednesday, July 3. Campus Wi-Fi services will be disrupted between 5:30 and 7:30 am.
