Despite a steady spring rainfall, the University of Windsor welcomed more than 2,000 prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, April 25 for its annual Spring Open House.

The event showcased the energy, opportunity and community spirit that define the Lancer experience.

Visitors explored academic programs, connected with faculty and current students and gained a firsthand look at the supports available to help them succeed.

Campus was buzzing with activity as visitors took part in general and faculty-specific tours and more than 50 presentations offered throughout the day. Thanks to faculty, staff and student participation across campus, attendees were able to tailor their experience to match their specific interests and goals.

“Your commitment to sharing what it means to be ‘Windsor Proud’ made the event an undeniable success despite the rain,” said Trish Sokoloski, director of student recruitment, in a message of thanks to those involved.

“Together, we offered an invaluable opportunity for students and families to learn more about our academic programs, student supports and vibrant campus life.”

Several new features added depth to this year’s event.

The Student Awards and Financial Aid office was open, providing one-on-one guidance to students navigating scholarships and funding options.

The Registrar’s Office also welcomed visitors, offering prospective students the opportunity to accept their offers on the spot and get immediate answers to important questions.

Leddy Library was also busy throughout the day, hosting a steady stream of tours and walk-in visitors throughout the day.

Families explored study spaces, asked questions and — in some cases, alumni parents revisited the spots where they once studied.

The School of Creative Arts hosted auditions and an art sale that highlighted the talent and creativity of UWindsor students. Both drew strong visitor interest.

The event also offered prospective students a glimpse into campus life beyond the classroom. Tours included stops at key facilities such as the University’s newest residence, Rodzik Hall, helping students envision what their day-to-day life at UWindsor could look like.

Meeting professors, chatting with current students and asking questions in a welcoming environment gave visitors a tangible sense of what belonging at UWindsor feels like.

Spring Open House remains a cornerstone event for the University of Windsor. For the thousands who attended, it was more than a visit — it was the beginning of their journey as Lancers.
