Windsor Lancers men's and women's basketball and hockey teams are set for action this weekend.

From hockey to basketball, there’s plenty of blue and gold action to take in.

Lancers’ fans are invited to come out, make some noise and cheer your Lancers to victory.

The action kicks off Friday, Nov. 7 at the Toldo Lancer Centre (TLC) as the Guelph Gryphons take on the women’s and men’s basketball teams at 6 and 8 p.m.

Over at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex, the Windsor Lancers women’s hockey takes on the Carleton Ravens with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m.

The University of Windsor has reappointed Debbie Sheppard-LeMoine to a second five-year term as dean of the Faculty of Nursing.

The renewal recognizes her leadership in strengthening the faculty’s academic excellence, research profile and global partnerships since 2019. Under her direction, the faculty earned the maximum seven-year accreditation from the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing for all undergraduate programs.

Dr. Brosseau shared her insights into next-generation plasmonic sensors, sustainable nanotechnology, point-of-need medical diagnostics and green mining technologies.

When Marc Zhichang Xu visited Windsor for the first time in early 2024, he found his time at the University to be “impressive and inspirational.”

“I was particularly inspired by the Indigenous Spirit on the Turtle Island Walk on the campus,” he says, referencing the Seven Grandfather Teachings represented along the route.

When George Zhou visited a high school in Japan as part of a six-week trip to Nagoya University, he was struck by the collaborative approach of the teachers.  

“When the school principal led me to a large open room, I was astonished by what I saw,” said Dr. Zhou.

Rather than sitting and working independently, Zhou saw teachers sharing resources and moving around the room to talk to their colleagues.
