The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has announced the recipients of the 2025 GA/TA Awards, honouring four exceptional educators for their commitment to teaching excellence.
Recognized with the GA/TA Award for Educational Leadership are Ronnie Haidar of Argumentation Studies and Brennen Siemens of the Department of History.
Receiving the GA/TA Award for Educational Practice are Mary Strong from Nursing and Saba Memon from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
"Being honoured with the GA/TA Award for Educational Leadership represents recognition of my commitment to empowering students and fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring academic community,” said Haidar.
“I am deeply grateful to those who have mentored me along the way as their influence has profoundly shaped how I approach education and making a positive impact.”
For award recipient Saba Memon, the award serves as a powerful reminder of the power of positivity.
"This award means so much to me and it’s really a reflection of my amazing students,” said Memon.
“Their passion and positivity make every effort worth it. I’ll cherish this honor for the rest of my life.”
Each year, CTL invites nominations for these awards to celebrate the contributions of graduate and teaching assistants who enrich the University of Windsor’s learning environment.
