Two University of Windsor professors are being recognized on the provincial and international stage.
Dr. Vincent Georgie and Dr. Emmanuelle Richez have been named Knights of the Order of La Pléiade by the Ontario section of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie — two of just six recipients selected across the province for 2026.

University of Windsor student Bianca Toma entered a high-pressure legal workplace and quickly proved she could handle real legal responsibility as a second-year student.
In her second year of the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Co-operative Education) program, Toma completed her placement at the Law Office of Amy Osman Professional Corporation, working as a legal assistant supporting immigration and criminal law files while gaining direct experience inside Ontario courtrooms.

More than 65 high school students from across Windsor-Essex spent a day as international delegates, debating global issues and negotiating resolutions.
The University of Windsor’s Model United Nations team hosted its annual conference this semester for a day of debate, negotiation and collaboration.
“It was amazing to have a room full of so many people,” said Model UN president and secretary-general Matthew Najem.

At the United Nations, efforts to combat homophobic and transphobic discrimination have triggered clashes with states that challenge LGBT rights as a “legitimate” human right.
Canadian diplomat Dr. Douglas Victor Janoff examines these tensions and the reasons behind them in his book Queer Diplomacy: Homophobia, International Relations and LGBT Human Rights, which he will discuss at a talk at the University of Windsor on Thursday March 12.
