Current Life Project: The continued solving of my daily existential crises, paired with my on-going attempt to be “hilarious” in all facets of life

Bio: If you include my time as a Master’s student, I have spent a total of 6 years studying philosophy. At the time of writing this, I am 26 years of age, which roughly translates to having spent almost a quarter of my life studying philosophy. Some may find the study of philosophy, especially in the 21st century, to be nothing more than idle musings, or the insights of the dead that are no longer applicable to modern life. Everything philosophy has taught me proves these notions to be stunningly false. At this moment, I am finishing up my Master’s of Business Administration, which is not the sort of degree you would expect a former philosophy major to pursue. Surprisingly, I have philosophy to thank for helping me succeed in the MBA. Studying philosophy taught me to see the world in new and different ways, to think critically and creatively, and to find some humour in the absurdity of it all.

To keep this short and sweet, here are a few final words: if you take the time to get involved, you will have some fantastic experiences; philosophy doesn’t have to be “pretentious”; it also doesn’t have to be an “old boy’s” club; learn to solve your existential crises with philosophy, because let’s be honest, we’re all having them; stay humble; embrace being-towards-death (that’s how I stay sane, personally); and keep a good humour about life (the most important lesson philosophy has taught me).
