B.Sc. Honours Biomedical Science

Previously named Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, the Biomedical Science program explores human biological systems at the cellular and molecular levels. This also involves the study of human diseases and investigation into diagnostics and therapeutics strategies in Biomedical Sciences.

Our program includes hands-on learning of sophisticated cellular and molecular biology techniques and addresses medical and ethical aspects of this field. You will acquire the tools and skills necessary to successfully compete for positions in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, physical therapy as well as industry, government, education, just to name a few.  


B.Sc. Honours Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences (Health Stream)

This interdisciplinary program builds on the strengths of both biochemistry and biomedical sciences and is designed to meet the needs of students who want a strong background in the fundamental sciences informing health and medicine. 

The curriculum incorporates integrated laboratory components with flexibility in senior courses and course selection to suit student interests. The overall curriculum includes a greater focus on core sciences, providing rigorous training into a variety of career paths, and provides more options for graduate and professional schools. Students may concentrate on sub-specialties such as molecular biology, biochemistry, medical physics, or microbiology, which will lead to a wide range of career goals.
