Surveillance on Campus
Surveillance on campus plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Through the use of cameras, alarms and access systems, the campus is better equipped to deter unauthorized activity, respond quickly to emergencies, and monitor key areas for potential safety concerns. Camera equipment helps with real-time monitoring and post-incident investigations. Alarm systems provide immediate alerts for fire, intrusion, or other emergencies. Access systems control access to authorized individuals. Together, these surveillance tools support a safer, more responsive campus community. To support the responsible use of these technologies, the University of Windsor follows the Installation and Use of Surveillance Cameras on Campus Policy that outlines their use, management, and installation considerations.
