- When will I receive a Mentor?
Many of the mentees will be matched up with their Mentors at the beginning of August; however matching takes place throughout the semester as well.
- I know an upper year student and I would like them to become my Mentor.
That's great! Have the student fill out an online application which can be found at the Connecting4Success website (www.uwindsor.ca/c4s) and email the Program Coordinator the name of the Mentor. Please note that the Mentor should be in the same program as you and must be in the same Faculty.
- My Mentor cannot attend an upcoming event; should I still attend?
If your schedule permits you to do so, then we encourage you to attend. There will be other mentees whose Mentors could not attend. Use these events to get to know other people in the program as well as make new friends.
- My Mentor fails to show up to scheduled meetings.
E-mail the Program Coordinator who will then tell you the next steps to take.
- How often do I meet up with my Mentor?
You will meet up with your Mentor weekly in September and October and twice in November. If you would like to meet more often, that is up to the discretion of you and your mentor.
- Approximately how long are the meetings?
The meetings will usually last between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the number and extent of the issues that are discussed in the meetings.
- Who will coordinate the meetings?
When you receive your Mentor, they will contact you to set up your first meeting in September. From there on, you will continue to stay in contact and communicate with your Mentor through the method of communication you have agreed upon (text messaging, e-mail, Facebook).
